Debbie Harry, Chris Stein and Clem Burke of Blondie are seen here reporting to VH1 at the Brooklyn Museum's "Who Shot Rock and Roll" exhibit; stellar drummer Burke sports our John Lennon You Are Here T-shirt, another little bit of rock history.
Chris Stein performed with Blondie AND exhibited some of his superb photos. Click here to see video from VH1.com. And stop by WornFree.com to see our Debbie Harry and Chris Stein shirts. Blondie, after all, is a group.
The headline says it all: We've gone completely around the bend, and from Oct. 12-18 you can benefit from our insanity by snagging tees like these ...
... and these ...
... and these ...
... and plenty more besides in women's sizes at a mind-blowing HALF OFF. Head on over to WornFree.com on Monday and start shopping before we regain our tenuous hold on reality. As the boilerplate says, while supplies last.
SyFy has launched a new entry in its Stargate franchise, Stargate Universe, and it co-stars Robert Carlyle (middle) and David Blue (right) as smart people who have something to do with stargates and whatnot. But enough TV trivia -- we're bringing all this up as a prelude to the news that the T-shirt peeking out from beneath Blue's jacket is our John Lennon You Are Here.
Which only goes to show that, to quote another classic in the science-fiction genre, Wherever you go, there you are.
Two other bits of business: sign up for our newsletter now (if, for some sci-fi reason, you haven't already) and get 10% off all orders until Dec. 21. And post rock-star pics of yourself on our Facebook page to be eligible to win a free tee. That is all. Klaatu barada nikto.
Yes, we know the focus has lately been on our Debbie Harry shirts, what with the sale on all Deborah designs through 7/15 (that's this Wed.); that said, we just had to show you this charming photo of singer-songwriter Leah Andreone in our John Lennon You Are Here tee.
Leah's new record, Avalanche, won't be out until Sept. 1, but you can sample her musical wares at leahandreone.com. Suffice to say she's got a killer voice and some truly gripping songs (including one co-written and sung with fellow WF aficionado Dan Wilson, who has rocked the very same design on this here blog).
P.S. If you want a Debbie Harry tee like Punk, Camp Funtime, No Pictures, Vultures, L.A.M.F., etc., hie thee to the Worn Free site and get 10% off by Wed. with coupon code RAPTURE. And stay tuned for news about kids' shirts and brand new designs!
Yeah, we'll make this quick, because we've got to start marinating meat and pre-mixing cocktails:
Every single frickin' T-shirt currently in stock is now on sale
at a staggering 25% off -- with free shipping -- until July 6.
If you're feeling especially in the spirit of the season, you might pick up our Lester Bangs Freedom or Death shirt, in honor of an uncompromising patriotic spirit.
But if you'd rather have a Zappa Radio Clyde, a Kurt Cobain Olympia, a John Lennon You Are Here, a Debbie Harry Camp Funtime or a Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros., be our guest. It's all there, all at 25% off. Instead of linking to all these designs, though, we're going to make potato salad. So head over to wornfree.com and see 'em for yourself.
Just use coupon code BBQ when you check out, and hurry up -- this sale will be a smoky post-fireworks memory come the 6th. And have a safe, happy 4th, everyone.
The people at the L.A. Times Magazine were kind enough to print the above item about us, kindly featuring our Debbie Harry Camp Funtime and John Lennon You Are Here tees (and also mentioning the Kurt Cobain Grunge Is Dead).
We should mention, though, that learning to walk the walk is not necessarily up to you; we will do our utmost to help with that as well on this very blog. Step One: Acquire some groovy WF attire. You can snag that Camp Funtime tee at a discount starting July 1 in honor of Debbie's birthday; details can be found at wornfree.com.
Step Two: Get a guitar, check into the Hotel Marmont and start a bar tab.
More soon.
Belle (played by the delectable Billie Piper) is the nom de boudoir of Hannah, a top-tier escort on Showtime's absurdly watchable series Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
The worlds of Hannah and Belle are kept as far apart as possible, but in a series of scenes taking up about half of last night's episode, Worn Free's John Lennon You Are Here shirt occupies an intriguing middle ground.
Belle, fresh from a date with a client, still wears her hot-girl stockings, but (in deference to Hannah) has exchanged her top for this comfy number, flashing its in-the-moment philosophy at the camera during a series of wild and excruciating sequences (the client's wife shows up at her place - 'nuff said).
Although its titillation factor is undeniable, the surprising thing about Secret Diary is that it's not only sharply funny but also deeply humane - sex serves as, among other things, a window into human frailty and a modern commodity; the way these elements intersect is often surprisingly illuminating and always entertaining.
But back to the shirt. We're grateful to the makers of the show for demonstrating its versatility -- professional and casual, glamorous and comfy, profound and ironic, Belle and Hannah. Best of all, you don't have to be a high-priced call girl to afford one. Though if you are, please remember to keep your diary in a secure location.
Oh, dear. That's rather a tacky headline. But hey, you think it's easy being bloggishly clever day in and day out? Why don't you come over here and try it, then? No, wait. We didn't mean it. Please don't come over here. We love this job.
What we really want to see is this: One of our highly covetable tees was spotted on WWE superstar Edge (see below), and several of our hottest designs are on sale for a limited time at the outrageous power-slam price of $30.
First, here's Edge, rocking our Joey Ramone Punk Magazine shirt on the occasion of a tense bout (known in the trade, we're fairly certain, as a "smackdown") with fellow combatant Matt Hardy.
And speaking of wrestling, we know you're grappling with an economy that's got your wallet in a hammerlock, so we're going to help you leap off the ropes and land squarely on this recession's chest with $30 deals on the following mega-hot designs:
Yep, you can obtain Debbie Harry "Punk" (modeled here by the ravishing Naomi Campbell); I'm Not Johnny Ramone (as seen on the delicious Eva Mendes); John Lennon Working Class Hero (thank you, Marlon Wayans); John Lennon You Are Here (pictured on the comely torso of Jaime King); Debbie Harry Camp Funtime (worn freely by the captivating Mischa Barton) and Lester Bangs Freedom or Death (as demonstrated by the reliably demonstrative Kevin Dillon, AKA Johnny Drama, on Entourage) -- all for a mere 30 clams.
So what are you waiting for, people? Wrestle out that credit card and let's make this happen.
We know it's tough out there, and not everyone has tons of scratch to invest in holiday gifts. But there are undoubtedly a handful of folks in your life who command the lion's share of your seasonal generosity, economy be damned. And these worthy people would clearly appreciate a stylishly cozy WF tee or two.
Allow us to make fulfilling their wishes much easier.
From now until Boxing Day (that's Dec. 26, don't you know), Worn Free is offering 20% off selected shirts and free shipping.
Yes, we know! You're welcome.
Your female friends, spouses, significant others and siblings will feel their oats in our sparkling-white Gram Parsons and The Fallen Angels tee, as modeled by both the daddy of country-rock himself and rock icon Robert Plant. And they'll belt out their blues in our highly art nouveau-ish Janis Joplin Family Dog shirt (in idol-worthy royal blue only).
And for the men? There's nothing like a British coat of arms to make a rock fan drool, and Jim Fitzgerald's Out of My Tree tee is particularly heraldic. For the more philosophically inclined Beatlemaniac in your life, ponder the profundity of our John Lennon You Are Here (in very thoughtful red only). After all, how can he enjoy the holidays if he's not reminded to be in the moment?
So there's your gift guide, with extra savings. And here's how it works:
1. Select the applicable design and color (i.e. You Are Here in red, Joplin in blue).
2. Enter the holiday-appropriate coupon code EGGNOG when you submit your order.
3. Ho, ho, ho! We'll take 20% off the price and ship it to you for free.
And then we will all drink the aforementioned eggnog.
Blimey! Pardon us if we're a little overwhelmed at all the lovely recent press about little old us.
First off, we're keen as mustard, as one might say Down Under, about the mentions we've received in Aussie publications like Cream, Who Magazine and Madison. Since a lot of our favorite music, movie stars and wildlife come from Australia, we're deeply honored. And seeing foxy Oz girls in WF tees like our John Lennon You Are Here shirt makes us feel all tingly. Please pass us a beer the size of a motor-oil can immediately.
We're feeling the love from InStyle.com, which blew a kiss to our Iggy Pop Dublin Sound Studios tee.
The Detroit Free Press gave us a nice little blurb showcasing the John Lennon Come Together shirt.
Getting a shout-out in a prestigious U.S. design mag like Print, meanwhile, is ridiculously exciting for geeks like us.
We're also delighted to have been the subject of a profile on the Dazed blog, the digital weathervane of long-running U.K. trendwatching pub Dazed & Confused. They're cool.
Been reading about us in your favorite publications, like Popular Mechanics, Scientific American, Cat Fancy or Juggs? Drop us a line -- our scrapbook is never satisfied.
