To quote John Lennon, Oh Yoko.
Quite apart from her place in music history -- and as the first person ever to bring contentment to John's world -- Yoko Ono was and is an artist and a major player in pop style.
She also happens to have been in on the ground floor of Worn Free's development, and her understanding of and endorsement of our idea (and ideals) helped us grow and thrive. For that we're very grateful.
So it seems fitting to showcase Yoko herself modeling our "Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi Ce Soir?" tee. This naughty-for-its-time French come-on (literally but less gracefully translated as "Would you like to go to bed with me tonight?") was first popularized in LaBelle's thundering 1974 R&B triumph "Lady Marmalade" (covered two decades later by a phalanx of pop divas), but it was also the de rigueur salacious invitation of our most hedonistic decade.
Since it's 2009 and we're facing a lot of difficult changes, we offer this shirt and its message in hopes of seeing fewer screw-ups and more hook-ups. Markets going up but the rest of us gettin' down. Less bloodshed and more time in bed. You get the idea.
Isn't there a special someone with whom you'd like to share this message?
How many real rock stars do you meet these days? Sure, there are a lot of reasonably talented kids flouncing about, but most are just a little too eager, too careerist, too ... milquetoast. you'd be forgiven for assuming that the riveting, killer charisma of old-school rockers was a thing of the past. Think again.
Presenting Patricia Klein, PK to her friends and fans. If you are among the lucky ones who've seen her onstage with Infinity, the uncanny, co-ed Journey tribute band (featuring members of The Muffs, The Murmurs, Longstocking and other hip outfits), you know that she rips into those Neal Schon solos with fire and dexterity. (And seriously, do you know how hard those are to play?) She's what folks in the business call a badass.
She also looks smokin' hot onstage, evincing a Keith Richards cool even as her screaming admirers are flinging their frilly underthings at her guitar. She was born to wear that Joan Jett Turner's on the Strip tee, which is equally fetching in the desert, at the beach, in a club or at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
