Halloween is always gone before you know it. But you can sport the spirit of the spookiest of holidays all year 'round, thanks to this week's special tee, the Joan Jett Skull & Snake.
The headline says it all: We've gone completely around the bend, and from Oct. 12-18 you can benefit from our insanity by snagging tees like these ...
... and these ...
... and these ...
... and plenty more besides in women's sizes at a mind-blowing HALF OFF. Head on over to WornFree.com on Monday and start shopping before we regain our tenuous hold on reality. As the boilerplate says, while supplies last.
Some of you complained (understandably) that our last Facebook fan photo contest -- soliciting pics of our pretty peeps in their fave WF tees -- discriminated against those who didn't yet own and/or couldn't currently afford our wares.
Well, we heard you. Presenting the new Worn Free Facebook Photo Contest.
This time, we're just looking for rock star attitude. So post snaps of yourselves throwing down, voguing, air-soloing, leaping in the air like well-scrubbed British Invasion hopefuls, scowling by a graffiti-saturated wall in the dodgy part of town, kicking your boot at the camera, waggling your bottom or flipping the bird. The winner, selected by the experts in our HQ, will score a FREE Worn Free tee.
So get on over to our Facebook page and get to postin'. Perhaps the formidable Joan Jett will inspire you.
Oh, and yes -- that's a new Joan Jett design, currently available at you-know-where.
Being a typically savvy denizen of the Interwebs (indeed, one who's discriminating enough to derive enjoyment from this elite and highly entertaining blog), you already know about the online shopping phenomenon that is Woot.com.
Yeah, we said rock star.
And not just because La Cho is among the most inspired and charismatic comedic performers of her generation, either.
We mean literally, as in "Margaret Cho picks up a guitar and rocks your ass with her brilliant songs."
It's not surprising, really, given her magically profane way with the language, her pitch-perfect ear for mimicry and her dead-on timing. In a way, she was always making rock 'n' roll. But now she's doing it with a six-string strapped to her chest.
Margaret's been workshopping the material at a rollicking series of nights at L.A.'s Club Largo, raunchily dubbed Fingerbang, with a bevy of wonderful players and singers (like Jon Brion, Grant Lee Phillips and Garrison Starr, among many others) assisting her; the fruits of her labor will be heard on an album, "Guitarded," slated for 2010.
In the meantime, enjoy her upcoming TV series, Drop Dead Divas, on Lifetime (starting July 12) -- and this fetching photo of the artist her own self, festooned in our Joan Jett Peacock tee.
The blogosphere, as we understand it's called, is rarely as inside as this: We're running a photo from another blog (DrivenByBoredom.com - thanks, guys) featuring the author of still another blog.
But it's only because we want to point out that Jennifer Kellas of Themusicslut.com wore her very attractive WF Queen Tour '75 shirt to a singles party for bloggers in New York City.
We like the name of Jennifer's blog, and we think she looks foxy in that tee.
The fact is, our humble shirt company has gotten a huge amount of support from the, er, blogosphere -- and we're feeling pretty great about it, because let's face it, these folks could write about anything. Some of them are even driven by boredom!
It's hard to imagine HotMamaDaily.com's Tracy Hopkins being bored, given this bit of impromptu e-voguing in our Debbie Harry "No Pictures" shirt. If this picture is any indication, she is able to stay amused under the most stultifying conditions. And to stay adorable while doing so.
Tracy wrote some really nice things about WF that made us blush just a bit.
It would be impossible for us to thank each and every blog that's written about our gallery of wearables, but know that we're grateful for the mentions and really want to know what you think.
Especially as we're about to roll out a truckload of new designs (keywords: Elvis! Keith Moon! Nudie Cohn! More Kurt! More Rod! More Joan! More Strummer! Mikey Dread! Derek and Clive!).
Stay tuned, my bloggy (and non-bloggy) friends. And do follow us on Twitter, won't you? We promise not to tweet too annoyingly.
L.A. singer-songwriter Eleni Mandell has been making compelling music for some time, but it does seem the world is beginning to catch up with her adventurous musical sensibility.
Possessing a voice that can be impossibly silky or forbiddingly smoky, depending on the melodic demands of her beguiling songs, she saunters into new musical territory on her new album, Artificial Fire.
Though she's a million miles from the transparent confessional style of most L.A. troubadours, and adept at telling stories from multiple points of view, she does achieve a new kind of intimacy here, especially on tunes like "It Wasn't the Time (It Was the Color)."
But what's bound to catch listeners' ears, at least on first spin, is her musical range; Fire includes jagged guitar-rock, winsome chamber-folk and even rollicking power pop. She's assisted in this by her solid band (guitarist Jeremy Drake, bassist Ryan Feves and drummer Kevin Fitzgerald) as well as such reliable musos as X drummer (and superb vibes man) D.J. Bonebrake, co-producer Dave Trumfio, and singer Inara George, one of Eleni's two partners in the foxy side project The Living Sisters.
You'll certainly want to catch her live, so go here to scrutinize her upcoming tour dates.
Since we love the voodoo that she does, we're psyched to see her doing it in WF's Joey Ramone Capitol Theatre and Joan Jett Peacock tees. And if you attend her shows, we're told, you might well spot one or more of her bandmates in Worn Free attire as well.

That's right, people -- Feb. 13. So get to writin'. What is your most rock and roll moment?
Have you packed your amp with explosives just before the end of a gig? Did you hurl a TV out a hotel window, hoping it would drop straight into the pool? Have you corraled seven groupies into a bathroom stall, for Guinness Book of Records purposes? Have you replaced your hospital IV with Jack Daniels while hitting on the nurse?
Let's see what you've got. And it had better be rock 'n' roll.
