We know it's tough out there, and not everyone has tons of scratch to invest in holiday gifts. But there are undoubtedly a handful of folks in your life who command the lion's share of your seasonal generosity, economy be damned. And these worthy people would clearly appreciate a stylishly cozy WF tee or two.
Allow us to make fulfilling their wishes much easier.
From now until Boxing Day (that's Dec. 26, don't you know), Worn Free is offering 20% off selected shirts and free shipping.
Yes, we know! You're welcome.
Your female friends, spouses, significant others and siblings will feel their oats in our sparkling-white Gram Parsons and The Fallen Angels tee, as modeled by both the daddy of country-rock himself and rock icon Robert Plant. And they'll belt out their blues in our highly art nouveau-ish Janis Joplin Family Dog shirt (in idol-worthy royal blue only).
And for the men? There's nothing like a British coat of arms to make a rock fan drool, and Jim Fitzgerald's Out of My Tree tee is particularly heraldic. For the more philosophically inclined Beatlemaniac in your life, ponder the profundity of our John Lennon You Are Here (in very thoughtful red only). After all, how can he enjoy the holidays if he's not reminded to be in the moment?
So there's your gift guide, with extra savings. And here's how it works:
1. Select the applicable design and color (i.e. You Are Here in red, Joplin in blue).
2. Enter the holiday-appropriate coupon code EGGNOG when you submit your order.
3. Ho, ho, ho! We'll take 20% off the price and ship it to you for free.
And then we will all drink the aforementioned eggnog.
TBS' comedy series My Boys returns with new episodes tomorrow night. Anticipation is high, due to some serious critical buzz (as they say out here in Tinseltown-adjacent Poserville); signs point to a show that's coming into its own in a big way, with a smart and sexy ensemble vibe that's reminding folks of Friends.
We're happy to hear all this because (1) we love TV and (2) Worn Free shirts are featured prominently on some prime My Boys real estate, namely the torso of Brendan (Reid Scott), a freewheeling DJ whose most prized possession, according to the official site, is his "collection of vintage rock T-shirts."
Our kind of guy. So it's no surprise to see him in, say, our John Lennon Home shirt:
And here he is in a fetching blue Worn Free logo shirt:
And yes, the characters regularly play poker. You can play along at home! Here's another game you can play: Let us know when you see Brendan in a new WF shirt. We'll get you started; if you squint at this pic you'll see he's wearing our striking Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros. tee.
So get to watchin' ... we expect your reports.
It will not escape your notice that Brendan, much like another WF devotee in TV Land, Vince (Adrian Grenier) on Entourage, is incredibly handsome and a total babe magnet. Will wearing Worn Free make you madly sexy and irresistible too? Of course it will.
How often do you hear a rock band that makes you want to do all the not-so-good-for-you things commonly associated with the genre's glorious peak? You know, like having anonymous, unwholesome sex or driving really fast or imbibing substances or putting a sledgehammer through a hotel-room TV?
Not often enough, sadly. These days it seems most new rock bands are obeying the speed limit. Metaphorically speaking.
So when we hit "play" on this video from the fire-breathing U.K. quintet Heaven's Basement, we felt the kind of jolt that's been painfully absent from our lives lately. This is what's known, in the trade, as balls-out rock -- thundering riffage, snarling leads, pummeling beats, wailing vocals and choruses that really pay off, thank you very much (after you watch this clip, check out "I'll Never Write a Love Song" and other punchy tunes on their MySpace page, linked above). The band's influences are clear and impeccable: Led Zep, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Sabbath. The kind of rock that makes you want to go on a rampage.
And dig guitarist Jonny Rocker's Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels shirt. Yes, we're chuffed about that. Rock fiends in Great Britain should by all means follow their path of destruction to venues in Bolton, Nottingham and elsewhere in the coming months; we've set aside a fifth of Jack Daniels in anticipation of their triumphant arrival in the States.
