Meet Kaia, extremely beautiful daughter of the inxoticating Cindy Crawford. She's seen here playfully acknowledging the likelihood that she'll be a lifetime subject of paparazzi snap-a-razzi by wearing Worn Free's Debbie Harry "No Pictures" tee.
Did you know you could get this and other brilliant WF tees in kid sizes? These diminutive couture pieces boast designs such as Radio Clyde, Camp Funtime, Born to Be Bad, Punk, Flying Burrito Bros. (recently spotted on young Cruz Beckham), Peaches and more.
After all, if your little ones are going to be surrounded by flashbulbs, they might as well be stylin'.
Yeah, we'll make this quick, because we've got to start marinating meat and pre-mixing cocktails:
Every single frickin' T-shirt currently in stock is now on sale
at a staggering 25% off -- with free shipping -- until July 6.
If you're feeling especially in the spirit of the season, you might pick up our Lester Bangs Freedom or Death shirt, in honor of an uncompromising patriotic spirit.
But if you'd rather have a Zappa Radio Clyde, a Kurt Cobain Olympia, a John Lennon You Are Here, a Debbie Harry Camp Funtime or a Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros., be our guest. It's all there, all at 25% off. Instead of linking to all these designs, though, we're going to make potato salad. So head over to wornfree.com and see 'em for yourself.
Just use coupon code BBQ when you check out, and hurry up -- this sale will be a smoky post-fireworks memory come the 6th. And have a safe, happy 4th, everyone.
If you've been admiring the wardrobe of Brendan (Reid Scott) on the TBS comedy series My Boys, well, no wonder: the guy's a walking monument to the allure and variety of WF tees.
In the array above, you can see him pictured in our Johnny Ramone Chatterbox tee, Frank Zappa Rental and Joey Ramone Capitol Theatre. TBS has even provided a helpful gallery of Brendan's shirts, with commentary far wittier than anything we could generate here; if you peruse it, you'll also see this TV hunk in our Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros. shirt, Frank Zappa Radio Clyde and more.
Frankly, we couldn't ask for a more appealing model. But we like to think these shirts can make anyone look like a sitcom hottie. Slip one on and you'll see.
It's been one hell of a year and we owe it all to you. Worn Free just keeps growing, thanks to our smart and stylish community; it seemed appropriate, therefore, to express our gratitude one last time in 2008 and to wish you a sparkling, safe New Year's celebration.
While we're at it, here are a few recent sightings to round out a smashing year. First a bit of Australian press coverage, namely the Rockland Courier and MX Brisbane:
Crikey, they've been good to us Down Under. Perhaps the rugged independence of our credo resonates with those folks in Oz.
But we're gettin' the love everywhere on the planet, as evidenced by this lovely post on the Glorious Noise blog (thanks, Derek!), a mention on the enigmatic L.A. blog Torr, a shout-out on Coolspotters highlighting the John Van Hamersveld Indian tee and a piece on the Welsh site Altsounds.
Of course, nothing pleases us more to see up-and-coming artists sporting our wares, like L.A. band Lojic, seen here showing off our Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros. and (on their interlocutor) Lester Bangs Freedom or Death.
Perhaps they'll be wearing WF attire when they rock Crane's Tavern in Hollywood on Jan. 10 or 14 Below in Santa Monica on Jan. 16.
In the meantime, why not close out the year by expanding your T-shirt wardrobe? You know you want to. Happy New Year, kids.
TBS' comedy series My Boys returns with new episodes tomorrow night. Anticipation is high, due to some serious critical buzz (as they say out here in Tinseltown-adjacent Poserville); signs point to a show that's coming into its own in a big way, with a smart and sexy ensemble vibe that's reminding folks of Friends.
We're happy to hear all this because (1) we love TV and (2) Worn Free shirts are featured prominently on some prime My Boys real estate, namely the torso of Brendan (Reid Scott), a freewheeling DJ whose most prized possession, according to the official site, is his "collection of vintage rock T-shirts."
Our kind of guy. So it's no surprise to see him in, say, our John Lennon Home shirt:
And here he is in a fetching blue Worn Free logo shirt:
And yes, the characters regularly play poker. You can play along at home! Here's another game you can play: Let us know when you see Brendan in a new WF shirt. We'll get you started; if you squint at this pic you'll see he's wearing our striking Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros. tee.
So get to watchin' ... we expect your reports.
It will not escape your notice that Brendan, much like another WF devotee in TV Land, Vince (Adrian Grenier) on Entourage, is incredibly handsome and a total babe magnet. Will wearing Worn Free make you madly sexy and irresistible too? Of course it will.
OK, that's a perfectly wretched title. But you know how sometimes you're star-struck early on in life and the feeling never quite goes away? Well, Evan Dando had that effect on us. He wasn't properly celebrated during the peak of his success (with his wonderful band, The Lemonheads, and as a solo artist) partly because of a lot of tabloid stuff surrounding his admittedly hard-living ways but also -- let's be clear -- because suckers envied his talent. The guy was and is just a slammin' songwriter and a really soulful singer. Listen to "It's a Shame About Ray" or "My Drug Buddy" and tell us you don't wish you'd written 'em yourself.
So seeing ol' Evan looking pretty much as good as he ever did, pouring it all out onstage with the Lemonheads and attired in our Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros shirt? Pure poetry, especially given the man's avowed fondness for GP and kindred flair for twangy tunefulness. But also because he seems to have pulled himself out of the very abyss that Gram couldn't escape.
The Lemonheads have a new, self-titled disc out; they'll be touring with The Jesus & Mary Chain, and you can catch them at Coachella, among other upcoming mass gatherings.
Hey, we're not made of stone. We, too, were charmed and enchanted by Juno and its incredibly poised young star, Ellen Page. Not only is it a truly funny and compassionate movie with a plot that Hollywood usually gets completely wrong, but it's full of truly fantastic pop-cultural references (and even a clip from The Wizard of Gore, for cryin' out loud). And Ellen (or should we call her Pagey, in tribute to Zeppelin?) has limned an entirely new kind of a teen-female character -- and altered the cultural landscape in the process.
Therefore imagine the be-still-our-hearts moment when we peeped the promo for her gig hosting Saturday Night Live ... wearing WF's Joan Jett Peacock shirt.
Well, that was pretty exciting. And then on the show, when she introduced Wilco in our Debbie Harry Camp Funtime shirt? Well, we were over the moon, as you might imagine.
She may not have snagged an Oscar -- this time -- but we feel like we won a pretty big award. Now if we could just get a shot of Diablo Cody (who took home a trophy for her wise and witty script) in a Flying Burrito Bros. shirt ...
That's bassist Mani (formerly of the Stone Roses and currently of Primal Scream), wearing WF's John Van Hamersveld Crazy World Ain't It tee and posing with the lovely Lisa, who sports our Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros. shirt.
What do these two happy people have in common, apart from extremely appealing pop couture? For one thing, there's the band Big Arm, which appeared at one of the nights Mani regularly puts on in Manchester -- and in which Lisa has more than a passing personal interest.
Big Arm is fronted by original Happy Mondays member Paul Ryder (brother of Shaun); as you students of musical history are no doubt aware, the Mondays were discovered by the late, great Tony Wilson, who introduced the new Mondays lineup at Coachella just last April. Tony, you'll be missed; we link to this clip from 24 Hour Party People in your honor.
You'll see a ton of WF shirts on Paul in this dazzling clip for the Big Arm single "Sunrays," which is due out in Sept.:
The band will shortly hit the road in support of another Manchester music legend, Ian Brown; we know Lisa will be there. We expect to see you as well.
This ad from the current issue of In Touch magazine is for the TBS comedy My Boys (sponsored by Chili's), which is an extremely realistic tale of a super-attractive woman and the, like, 200 Platonic male friends she hangs around with.
But we were keen to share it with you not only because we want to keep you informed about the latest advancements in sitcom science but also because that handsome gent in the upper-right corner of the pic is clad in our honky-tonk-a-delic Gram Parsons Flying Burrito Bros. tee. Let's have a closer look, shall we?
We don't know if that young actor is well versed in Gram's revolutionary fusion of country songcraft and psychedelic pop experimentalism, but if he just smiles and sips that beer he can certainly pretend he is. But even if you don't yet know "Hot Burrito #1" from "Hot Burrito #2," you'll doubtless want to wrap this gorgeous shirt around your heart. And don't feel obliged to wear anything over it.
