Dan Wilson, You Are Here.
"I love this shirt," reports singer-songwriter Dan Wilson. "I've worn it at 20 shows, on TV, to lunch and rehearsals. Finally, here's a picture of me in it!"
We're glad to hear it -- we've been a fan of the man's work for years. In the '80s and '90s, he turned out a trove of smart and soulful songs with his bands Trip Shakespeare and Semisonic (remember "Closing Time"?). More recently, he's scored a Grammy for his writing with the Dixie Chicks and penned tunes with artists like James Morrison, Gabe Dixon and Carrie Rodriguez.
He's also written a stack of gorgeous tunes as a solo artist, and dude plays guitar like a mofo.
Best of all, Dan happens to be a hell of a nice guy, as you'll see for yourself if you catch him live. Which you really should make an effort to do.
